Cheap without a chain
If your town has no budget chain, the council centre is usually the cheapest room with a squat rack in it, especially on a concession.
- South Norfolk, at Wymondham, Diss, Long Stratton, Framingham Earl and Kett's Park: £36 a month for all five, concession £28.20, over 65s £30.40, student £24.40, junior from £20.25.
- Pay as you go beats a membership if you go twice a week or less: South Norfolk charges £8.25 to £9.35 for a gym session or class, £6.60 to £7.60 to swim.
- Alive West Norfolk fitness classes: £10.40, £7.80 with a discount card, £5.20 on a concession.
- Everyone Active at The Reef, Sheringham, starts at £21.99 a month on its entry tier.

Junior 2k events run at Eaton Park and Gorleston.

Is there a cheap gym near me if I am not in a city?
Thetford has Snap Fitness and Diss has PureGym. Elsewhere the council centre or a pay as you go session is usually the cheapest route, from £8.25 in South Norfolk.
Is a budget chain worth it over a council centre?
If you only want a gym floor and long opening hours, yes. If you want a pool, classes in the price and a concession rate, the council centre is normally better value.
