Sheringham has 7,093 residents, down on 2011, three miles west of Cromer at the terminus of the North Norfolk Railway. Its age profile is among the oldest in a district where 34.2% of people are already 65 or over. The resident base is small, older and shrinking, while the summer brings a surge that wants day passes rather than memberships.
Four venues is the smallest count on any town page here. It is also, arguably, the best single facility outside Norwich.
